Chapter Ten - Democratic Alliance Youth and Democratic Alliance Women's Network

  1. 10.1    DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE YOUTH

    10.1.1    A formation of the Party known as the Democratic Alliance Youth must be established to further the Vision and Core Values, the Principles and Programme of Action of the Party among young people and to pay particular attention to the interests of and the matters affecting young people.

    10.1.2    The organisation structures and functions of youth formations of the Party are detailed in the constitution of the Democratic Alliance Youth adopted by the Democratic Alliance Youth Congress.  The Federal Council must approve that constitution and amendments thereto before they become effective
     
    10.1.3    The Democratic Alliance Youth Constitution must not contain any provision that conflicts with the Vision, the Principles, the Programme of Action or the Mission Statement of the Party or that is inconsistent with the provisions of this Constitution. If a dispute arises as to the interpretation of any provision of the Democratic Alliance Youth Constitution or if that Constitution is silent upon the issue, the provisions of this Constitution must prevail.

    10.1.4     Notwithstanding anything to the contrary which may be contained in the Constitution of the Democratic Alliance Youth, the Chairperson of the Federal Council of the Party may, after satisfying himself or herself of the situation, act in terms of clauses 4.11 and 5.3.4 of this Constitution, with the necessary changes.

     10.2    DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE WOMEN’S NETWORK

    10.2.1    A formation of the Party known as the Democratic Alliance Women’s Network must be established to further the Vision, the Principles and Programme of Action of the Party among women and to pay particular attention to the interests of and the matters affecting women.
       
    10.2.2    The organisation structures and functions of women’s formations of the Party are detailed in the constitution of the Democratic Alliance Women’s formation adopted by the Democratic Alliance Women’s Network Congress.  The Federal Council must approve that constitution before it can become effective
     
    10.2.3    The Democratic Alliance Women’s Network Constitution must not contain any provision that conflicts with the Vision, the Principles, the Programme of Action or the Mission Statement of the Party or that is inconsistent with the provisions of this Constitution. If a dispute arises as to the interpretation of any provision of the Democratic Alliance Women’s Network Constitution or if that Constitution is silent upon the issue, the provisions of this Constitution must prevail.
